Parts Of The Spinning Top

To simplify talking about the spinning top we will agree on some terminology. The top spins on the point or tip. We will usually call this the point. Sometimes we might slip and call it a tip. Either way, this is the smallest part of the spinning top. The other end of the spinning top is the crown. It's the starting place where we wind the spinning top. Soon we will try the winding part. Meanwhile, right below the crown is the shoulder. The body of the spinning top is the part between the shoulder and the tip.
